My focus is to look past the obvious to create new narrative in found images.  Utilizing monoprint, painting, drawing, collage and various mixed media, and often working in series, I select random images from commercial, institutional and personal source material. I like to explode images out of their normally dry and mundane presentations through re-interpretation and a range of treatments. By placing them in unexpected new settings, my challenge is to re-contextualize and imbue imagery with doses of emotion, mystery, irony, and/or whimsy in ways that contrast with their original intent.
